Lean Management in Healthcare

The Project is addressing issues of organizational and innovation processes of patient treatment. Lean management in healthcare is a new method that obtains more and more appreciation in Western countries due to the significant results achieved in effectiveness of treatment, improved quality and patients' satisfaction without need to finance growth in employment or expensive medical technology. However, Lean Management is not present in the Polish healthcare system. The research team, under the guidance of PTEZ and support of two reputable scientific institutions: MUW and IPiN, intends to fill this innovative gap by creation and dissemination of the national Standards of value stream mapping (VSM) in health care. The empirical part of the project will be covered by pilot process mapping of stroke in the Mazovian province, with the medical support of IPiN. VSM Standards in Healthcare will be further developed by PTEZ.
